French Polynesia (Pacific)

It is a French overseas collectivity in the South Pacific Ocean. It is made up of several groups of Polynesian Islands, the most famous one being Tahiti, in the Society Islands group, which is also the most populous island and the seat of the capital of the territory Papeete. Bora Bora the island, located about 230 km northwest of Papeete, can be reached by internal flight, it is surrounded by a lagoon and a barrier reef. In the center of the island are the remnants of an extinct volcano rising to two peaks, Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu. Originally named Pora Pora meaning "First Born". Over the last few years, several resorts have been built on motu (small islands) surrounding the lagoon. Today, overwater bungallows are a standard feature of most Bora Bora resorts. Air Tahiti has five or six flights daily to Bora Bora airports. Bora Bora is predestined for snorkelling and scuba diving in and around its lagoon. Moorea, 17km northwest of Tahiti meand "yellow lizard" in Tahitian. Because of its stunning scenery and accessibility to Papeete, Moorea is visited by western tourists who travel to French Polynesia. Especially popular as a honeymoon destination, Moorea can often be seen in advertisements in American Wedding magazines. Wilder than other islands with natural beauty offers opportunities for real scuba diving experience. The Moorea Coral Reef is part of the National Science Foundation's Long term ecological Research Network.

A great honeymoon combination would be Los Angeles, Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora for about 15 days in total.
