Bangkok – Phuket – Singapore
Bangkok - the capital, although increasingly westernized, is underpinned by a strong sense of tradition. It is the cultural, political and financial center of the country. Through the city flows the Chao Phraya River on whose banks can be found some of the best hotels in Bangkok. It is also where visitors can find the Grand Palace, covering a huge area and one of the major sites. Here also is Wat Phra Kaeo, a complex temple that houses the Emerald Buddha. Within the city limits is a wealth of over 300 Buddhist Temples. The gardens surrounding the temples offer an escape from the hectic pace of a big city. The Floating Market is an interesting place to visit among others. River is the old capital of Ayutthaya and the old summer palace at Bang-Pa-In. Within its confines are structures such as a classic Thai pavilion, a neoclassical palace, a Chinese style pagoda and a Buddhist temple that resembles a Gothic church. Just outside the city is the Rose Garden Country Resort with daily performances of Thai music, dance, games and ceremonies.
The island of Phuket - (attached by a causeway to the mainland) in the southwest corner of the country, is one of the several resorts on the Indian Ocean. Over the last few years many new hotels have opened in Phuket.
Singapore city - the best way to experience the remarkable diversity of the cist is on foot: the traditional architecture, customs and cuisines of the various ethnic areas, in turn, in fascinating contrast to the lavish space-age shopping centres of Orchard Road and Raffles City. Other streets with excellent shopping opportunities are Baghdad Street and Bussorah Street. The golden dome of the Sultan Mosque dominates the area. Chinatown is a bustling and colourful area with shops and restaurants and also several temples. No trip to Singapore would be complete without a visit to Raffles, one of the most famous hotels in the world. Apart from the museums and galleries do not miss the Jurong Bird Park on Jurong Hill with an incomparable collection of S. East Asian birds and the Singapore Zoo. Over 170 animals live here including many which are rare or endangered. Sentosa is the largest and best known of Singapore’s offshore island and also one of the closest to the mainland to which it is linked by cable car.
